New Year’s Honour – awarded to Wendy Coombey

Congratulations to Wendy Coombey!

New Year Honour for Diocese Support Minister
Congratulations to our Community Partnership and Funding Officer Wendy Coombey whose work has been recognised by the Queen.

Wendy has been awarded an MBE for services to churches in the New Year’s Honours list.

Speaking about the award Wendy said: “I’m moved that my friends and colleagues have put me forward to receive this award.

“To be recognised by them means so much, but I couldn’t do my work in isolation, so I see this as recognition for all the volunteers, the communities across Herefordshire and South Shropshire, all the PCC’s and Christian communities that work so hard to look after their Church buildings, or serve the people in their villages and towns across the Diocese.”

Essay: Pioneering Evangelism

An extract from the Conclusion of Cate’s essay…

“While the process involved in changing our thinking is unlikely to be easy, the potential fruit is plentiful. We will aid Christians in finding a language that has integrity within their own experience of faith; we will make stronger connections between the work of evangelism and that of social responsibility; we will be better placed to build a church which demonstrates the gospel in lived example; and we will be communicating an evangel that can be joyfully received as good news.”
